Volunteer with Us

Our volunteers make the world of difference, and we need your help.

Volunteering’s not just about giving back – it goes both ways. It improves your wellbeing, gives you skills for the future, and helps you make new friends and memories.

Team player? Love supporting young people? Great at planning? Why not join us?

Scouting is about everyday people working as leaders and supporters in their communities, giving young people confidence, a sense of purpose, life values and outdoor skills that are hard to find anywhere else.

Whatever your skills, experience and interests, we can find a role for you!

Scouts are run by volunteers, who might join us because they want to:

  • Try something new (maybe a New Years Resolution or a personal challenge)
  • Make friends
  • Spend time with their children – or gain experience with young people
  • Do something good for their community and themselves
  • Keep their bodies and brains active and happy – whether that’s by scaling mountains, sharing skills or serving tea

No previous experience with young people? No problem. Whether you’d like to help out week-after-week as a Leader or uniformed assistant or whenever-you-can, we provide some training, learning opportunities and cups of tea – every step of the way.

So.. are you going to give it a try?

Whether you are deciding how much time you can give or if it is for you, why don’t you get in touch! Fill out our Join Us (Link to Join Us) form, to find out more information about Scouts in Lagan District.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
