“Ardnavally, meaning ‘The tree on the hill”

Ardnavally can provide many options for small, medium and large groups to cater for their needs. Some of our facilities are listed below:

The Baden Powell Chalet is a modern, self-contained building that is ideal for groups to use. The building is ideally situated at the top of the site and has panoramic views towards the Belfast Hills and across the Lagan Valley Regional Park.

The building can be used as a base by groups for a days activities, or alternatively can be used as accommodation and provides an ideal base for a longer stay.

  • Meeting hall – 200 seats
  • Fully equipped kitchen
  • Coffee lounge – 75 seats
  • Free Wi-Fi around the main buildings
  • Male and female toilets
  • Full shower facilities

The Pathfinder building consists of a small hall, separate kitchen and male and female toilets.

It makes an ideal base for small groups and can be used for meetings or birthday parties. It is located adjacent to the Paddock Field which can also be booked for games and group activities to expand your options.

Some groups book the Pathfinder as a low-cost option as a base even if they are camping to store equipment, cater from and have an option if the weather turns for the worst.

Set amongst woodland there are numerous secluded sites of varying sizes available, allowing us to accommodate any group size. We can cater for every requirement from groups with a few hike tents up to large groups with numerous patrol tents; space for bivvying, shelters, or for those who look want to camp with a bivouac or hammock.

There are communal altar fires available along with a woodpile and several water taps located around the site.

A separate toilet and shower block is available for all campers.

Nature and the outdoors are languages that can be learned. Once you identify a beech tree, tie a clove hitch or cook a simple meal over a fire that you’ve built yourself, you’ll never forget it.'
